Texas Government Code 2054.519 State Certified Cybersecurity Training Programs requires DIR, in consultation with the Texas Cybersecurity Council, to certify at least five cybersecurity training programs for state and local government employees. A training program is a course or curriculum of courses that meets the training program certification standards. This is what will be certified.
Once you submit your training program for certification, your program content and materials will be evaluated by the Texas Department of Information Resources and you will be notified upon determination of the certification status. There is no cost to have a training program reviewed for certification. Certifications are valid until August 31 and need to be renewed annually.
Note: If this training program was approved in FY 24-25, and there have been no changes to the criteria’s content, submit a Program Recertification Application, instead of an Application for Certification.
Contact TXTrainingCert@dir.texas.gov with any questions about the certification process.
